There are many health centres located around the island of Madeira. Some are equipped with emergency facilities and some private clinics also have emergency services. In case of emergency, most tourists will visit the 🏥 Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça Cruz de Carvalho.
The local chemists (farmácia) 💊 (see details at point 2 above) are recognisable by a green cross sign and will have almost anything you need. After hours, there's always one duty chemist displayed on the entrance door of each pharmacy.

🗑️ 5. REFUSE DISPOSAL
Please take all refuse, including bathroom refuse bags, to the public rubbish bins. They are to the left of the house, up the hill on the first bend immediately after the house.
⚠️ 6. DANGERS & NUISANCES
Madeira has very little crime. The worst that may happen is sunburn or a hangover. Violence against tourists is extremely rare.
Pickpockets or bag snatchers are uncommon, but always be cautious. Don’t leave bags unattended and stay aware of people around you.
For theft, report to the police to obtain a report for insurance claims. For lost passports, contact the consulate.
Other nuisances might be occasional mosquitoes or parked cars—but nothing serious to affect your stay.

Check-out times: Flexible. However, if there are guests checking in the same day, please check out by 9:30 AM. Check-in time for new guests is from 4:00 PM.
If you have not made alternative arrangements, kindly place the keys inside the key safe located by the door. The code is 1419.
